What have we done in response to Ofsted?

Ofsted last came to the school in 2003. The key issues have been built into the school development plan to ensure they are a priority focus.

We have been working on raising standards in writing through providing the children with opportunities to write as much as possible right across the curriculum. Regular opportunities for the children to write unaided have been established, these are then assessed and pupils progress is tracked. The children have termly /half termly writing targets to help them focus on areas in need of development.

Presentation is being worked on through daily handwriting sessions in every class.

Parents were invited into school to learn how we teach handwriting to help them support their children at home.

Subject co-ordinators carry out work trawls to ensure they are aware of how each subject is taught and covered across the school. Release time has been made for co-ordinators to work across the school to develop teaching and learning skills in each subject.
